hey beave, does iwar record a short clip of voice prompt/modem
tone/some1 saying "hello, hello?" or possibly the ability to notice a
human operator and give them a junkwav like "blah blah were doing a
survey..." so most poeple will drop the call and think nothing of it or
some shit? i dunno just a though
These are good questions for the mailing list. Please keep thattone/some1 saying "hello, hello?" or possibly the ability to notice a
human operator and give them a junkwav like "blah blah were doing a
survey..." so most poeple will drop the call and think nothing of it or
some shit? i dunno just a though
in mind next time, but I'll forward it...
1. Does it have the ability to record?
Not at this time. Of course, recording would only work for
VoIP mode. I typically use my Asterisk box to do the recording
but this is something I've thought about adding into to iWar for
a while. Basically, record the calls as NPA-NXX-XXXX.wav (or
whatever). It'd probably be trivial to add (famous last
words).
2. Can you have it "play" a file when someone answers.
iWar can't do this right now, but I have hacked up a personal
version to do just this. Basically, I had a recording that
just said, "Oh, I'm sorry. I must have dialed the wrong
number". Like #1, this will only work for VoIP mode. I had
a personal dilemma about adding this because spammers could take
advantage of this. I'll probably move this old patch up to
the current CVS in the next week or so... It's actually quite
useful.
It works by testing to see if the call gets supervised or not.
If it does, it pauses then plays the recording. Hence the
reason it'll only work over VoIP. (sup testing)
Keep a eye out on the list, and I'll post when the patches get
included.
